Xavier moved to Englefield Green in 2005, when with his wife, Hanna, joined Royal Holloway. Their daughters, Alexa and Lulu, have been through both St Jude's Schools. Xavier is Chief Executive of the national charity Sustrans which makes it easy for people to walk and cycle. He previously spent ten years in a number of leadership roles at Transport for London after starting his career as a strategy consultant. This is Xavier’s first governor role and is excited to be stewarding such an important institution in the local community.

Juan's experience encompasses specialist and generalist management skills in a number of commercial and HR roles. As Deputy Group HR Director of Direct Line Insurance Group, Juan was part of the leadership team that floated the company on the London Stock Exchange in 2012. A two-year Sabbatical followed, during which extensive travel to Africa, Asia and Australia were highlights.

Juan's roots are in the Isle of Man (hence his name 'Jew-un' ) albeit he now lives in Windsor. His most recent business role was as the HR Director of Barclays Retail Bank based in Canary Wharf, London.

I’m employed as Technical Operations Manager at Royal Holloway University of London. At RHUL I'm responsible for Health and Safety which ranges from day to day H&S through to laboratory process and plant areas, along with planning and implementing a Covid-19 compliant campus for teaching and research. I sit on various senior committees within RHUL, one being for college capital investment appraisal.

I have always worked in higher education in a science setting including research and teaching and I feel with my experiences I can offer support to the school as a parent governor. I have two children, one in year 4, Maxime, and then Oscar in year 7. I feel it is time to give something back to the community and school.

Vicki starting teaching in 1991 and has previously worked in schools in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Having lived in Englefield Green and surrounding area for quite some time, Vicki understands the diverse needs of the village and its children. After ten years as a deputy head and keen to lead a school of such high regard, she took up her first headship at St Jude’s in April 2008

Pru started teaching in 2001 in Somerset and moved to St Jude’s in 2005. She was appointed Deputy Head in 2009 and thoroughly enjoys working alongside her colleagues and the children at the school. Her key responsibility is the quality of teaching and learning. Pru is also deputy head at St Jude's Infant School.Accordion content

Emily joined St Jude’s in 2006 as a Year 4 teacher. She is the Deputy Head and SENDCo (Special Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator) at both schools. This role involves co-ordinating the provision for pupils with SEND, monitoring their effectiveness and the children’s progress, teaching some SEND groups for English and managing the teaching assistants.

Canon Judith Allford was named as vicar at St Jude's Church in 2019. As St Jude's Junior School is a church school, with extremely close links to St Jude's Church, this means we are delighted to welcome Judith, as ex-officio, to the governing body. Judith will be vital in maintaining the school's Christian values.

Rev Jeremy Brown is one of the foundation (church appointed governors) from Christ Church Virginia Water. He is the children & families pastor at Christ Church. He along with Judith take Monday morning assemblies at the school.

Jeremy is married to Clair, and they have 3 children, Grace and Samuel are at Magna Carta and Daniel attends Manor Mead Virginia Water. He enjoys football and supports Aston Villa!

Helen has a long-standing interest in education, having taught at university level since the 1990s; she also ran a Sunday school for several years. Her two children are both at secondary school but both attended St Jude’s Infant and Junior schools. Helen is also in the Admissions Committee and is SEND governor.

Carlos has been a governor since 2009, first at Englefield Green Infant School and then at St Jude's Junior School and now on the Federated governing body of St Jude's Schools. He has two daughters; both of which attended St Jude's Schools. Carlos was a research chemist and now works in venture capital finance and biotechnology. He has a broad knowledge of and a keen interest in education, especially maths and science.

Sam Jenkins joins the Governing Body at St Jude's with experience across the education, civic and third sectors. In May 2022 he became the youngest Independent candidate to be elected to Runnymede Borough Council, where he represents Egham Town ward. His main policy interests are climate change, sustainability and provision for children and young people. Sam also sits on a number of other governing committees within the local community, including Runnymede Access Liaison Group, which supports and advocates for those with physical and hidden disabilities.

Harriet graduated from the University of Surrey in 1999 with a degree in Music Technology. She then joined Procter & Gamble, working in the Brand Management and Sales departments for 11 years, working on various household brands including Pantene, Olay and Max Factor, and secondment roles in Shopper Marketing, Recruitment and Mergers and Acquisitions. She moved to Englefield Green in 2004, with her husband and 2 daughters, and now runs local business Heaven at Number 7, which she formed in 2010. Harriet also sings with local choir, The Hythe Singers, and retains a passion for bringing music to education. She’s delighted to have the opportunity to bring her experience in business and marketing to St Jude’s.

I have been a teacher for 15 years and with a degree in Primary Education and a PGCE in Early Years Research I hold both QTS and EYT status. I have been teaching in Early years for 10 years and have been Acorns class teacher since 2018. I am passionate about the importance of high quality early education; the unique nature of this developmental period; and its crucial role in closing the attainment gap. Outside of school, I am mum to Maisie who has just started secondary school. I am also a keen (if slow) runner.

Will is a civil servant working on major events within the Cabinet Office. He has experience leading teams that have help respond to most of the major events and incidents that have impacted the UK over the last few years.

Prior to this, Will was an officer within the British Army, training and leading soldiers in various locations including two tours of Afghanistan. He is a generalist who hopes to bring a range of leadership and project management skills to help support the St. Jude's Federation. As a new governor he is keen to learn from the team and support wherever he can.

Will lives in Egham with his wife Emma, their daughter Olivia, who is a pupil at the infant school who is thriving, their toddler son Max and their dog Hector!
